About the Department Department of Mechanical Engineering at NITK has well qualified and committed faculty. It has well equipped laboratories, workshops and other infrastructure. Department is also actively engaged in Industry- Institute Interaction. Major areas of specialization in the department are Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, Machine Design and Thermal Engineering. Department offers Bachelor degree program in Mechanical Engineering and Master degree program in the
disciplines of Thermal Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Mechatronics. The department has an excellent record of having conducted several short term courses, seminars, symposia, workshops and National and International conferences.
